Our client has the largest hospital in Northland, providing secondary care services for the region, supported by three regional hospitals. Northland covers an area of 12,600 square kilometres and has a population of approximately 194,000. As a region Northland is renowned for its beautiful beaches and relaxed lifestyle.
We are looking for a Medical Registrar to join our dedicated Haematology/Oncology team. Working from our new unit, the Jim Carney Treatment Centre, this is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic expanding service. The centre is primarily an outpatient service offering day stay chemotherapy with the Registrar assisting the acute medical team with management of patients on treatment requiring admission. Working closely with the Haematologists and Oncologists means you can widen your practice as your skills grow. You will also contribute to the acute medical roster.
There is an active clinical training programme with didactic sessions, interactive based teaching, journal club and videoconferencing of RACP lectures. Te Whatu Ora – Te Tai Tokerau is accredited for 24 months’ basic physician training.
