Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity
Our client has an opportunity for an experienced Child & Adolescent or Forensic Psychiatrist to join their exciting and innovative multidisciplinary team – at The Regional Youth Forensic Service (RYFS). RYFS provides consultation, assessments, Court ordered reports, Court based Liaison Services and short focused interventions for young offenders presenting to the youth justice system with mental health issues. They also provide mental health care for adolescent residents at their secure youth justice facility.
You will contribute to the delivery of Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS), allowing you to thrive professionally in providing your clinical expertise and knowledge to most areas of young people’s mental health. RYFS has a strong commitment to collaboration between young person, family, staff, and other services.
There are also opportunities for interagency liaison, training, and to contribute to on-going service development. If successful, you will also be involved in our on-call roster of Child and Adolescent Psychiatrists for the region. At present there are a good number of consultants involved so this need not be greatly demanding.
This is a permanent, full time (or part time) position.
Nga P?kenga Motuhake | Important Skills
You must be vocationally registered with the Medical Council of New Zealand (www.mcnz.org.nz ) with a current Annual Practising Certificate or eligible for the same.
It is essential that you have experience with child services and neurodevelopment pathways. Also essential, is experience and interest in community care for client and adolescents with developmental disorders.
