ABOUT THE ROLE

Our client ise excited to announce a new position for an Adult Hospital Consult Liaison Psychiatrist.   This is an opportunity to join a passionate team who places great value on putting people first, embedding Te Ao M?ori in every-day practice, leading with kindness and achieving excellence through close partnership with our medical partners.  

Our client has a flexible structure whereby the role will be based with the Acute Response / Home Based Treatment Team (ART/HBT) and Consult Liaison Clinicians.  There may be a rotation to in-patient or other community positions over time.  
 
We are embedding our new model of care Te Ara Tauwhirotanga: pathways that lead us to act with kindness.  Te Ara Tauwhirotanga is the product of extensive co-design with over 400 participants from the community, a model that clearly articulates what works for people in their recovery and healing journey.    

The successful candidate will have:
•    A broad range of general psychiatric skills
•    Hold or be eligible for Vocational Registration with Medical Council of NZ
•    Enjoy teaching – Rotorua is a teaching hospital with 4th, 5th and 6th year medical students as well as
     registrars training for fellowship with the RANZCP

  • Offer senior advice and support in the assessment and diagnosis of presenting conditions to General Medicine teams

The role:
•    Busy role with a broad variety of general psychiatry
•    1:6 on call roster
