ABOUT THE ROLE

Our client is seeking Mental Health locum nurses to help with their Health and Addictions Service based in the North Island. 

Role:  They are seeking locum mental health nurses to help work in the community. This work is not based in a clinic. 

Ideally nurses who can work with either:

   – Children and adolescents 
   – First episode psychosis early intervention
   – Otherwise open to hearing of mental health nurses in general with availability. 

Roster: Monday to Friday work only, no on call work required. 
Hours: Varies from either 8am-4pm or 8:30am-4:30pm
Other: Accommodation & travel is not provided.
Dates: They are open to hearing of those with availability. 1 month minimum is required.
Pay: This will be confirmed when presented for work

This community role is run by a kaupapa Maori organisation specialising in needs Assessment and Service Coordination. They are a free service. The organisation consists of several business units with expertise in different areas of work including facilitating access to secondary level mental health services. 

They have a diverse and well rounded team that consists of Mental Health nurses, Nurse Practitioners, Psychiatrists, Psychologists, Occupational Therapists, HCA, Social workers, CP, and Paediatricians. 

They are open to mental health nurses taking on permanent roles. As a locum they would like someone to come in confident and have experience to help provide support for their on-going growing need.

Skills and experience you’ll need to be considered for the role:

•    Mental Health experience (Ideally in the community)
•    Effective time management, prioritisation and organisation skills
•    Ability to work collaboratively with a range of professional groups in a multidisciplinary setting
•    Registration as a Registered Nurse with Nursing Council of New Zealand required
